A King man and his bride-to-be have been named big winners in a national military wedding contest.

Joanna Bailey Weddings recently announced that on November 15, 2009, Active Duty Marine Corporal Curtis Evans and Fiance Kendra Johnson, both of North Carolina, will take their vows in front of friends and family at the beautiful Evergreen Lake House in Evergreen, Colorado. The couple is the first recipient of the Military Dream Wedding Giveaway presented by Joanna Bailey Weddings. Joanna Bailey Weddings plans to make the Military Dream Wedding Giveaway an annual event with a different wedding location every year.

Three weeks and 27 entries from military couples all over the country was all it took to find a winner. Kendra, a graduate student from the University of North Carolina, and Corporal Evans, who has just returned from a tour in Iraq to his base in Cherry Point, NC, were engaged in March.

“Today, when I hear the national anthem it brings chills to my arms and a tear to my eye, knowing how much my Marine means to me and to our country,” Kendra shares. “I am so excited about becoming his wife.”
