King Chamber of Commerce plans meet and greet with King Council candidates Oct. 22

Not sure who you want to vote onto the King City Council this year?

The King Chamber of Commerce is hoping to make the choice a little easier by sponsoring a meet and greet event with all of the candidates on Oct. 22 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Chamber offices in downtown King.

“All of the candidates for King offices, including the mayor who is running unopposed, have said they will be there,” said Chamber Director Cathy Loveday. “It is open for anybody to in the city to stop by and have a chance to talk with the candidates.”

Loveday said the Chamber had considered hosting a forum as in year’s past, but decided to go with a different format this year.

“It is meant to be a casual atmosphere where people can just come in and talk to the candidates and ask questions,” she said. “Our government committee felt that would be something different and nice. We did not want it to be as formal as the forum we held for county candidates last year.”

She added that all of the candidates for King offices this were chamber members, either personally or through their churches or civic organizations. She added that there would be light refreshments available at the meet and greet.
