8 arrested in drug sweep

The Stokes County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Division recently arrested eight people on drug charges as part of multiple month investigation.

“Detectives purchased illegal narcotics from individuals in various locations throughout the county,” said Captain Danny Bottoms. “Types of narcotics purchased by detectives were cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and prescription drugs. The round up let to 50 felony charges, 23 misdemeanor charges as well as the discovery of a meth lab.”

Sharon Sue Moon, 56, of 1309 Gordon Rd., Pinnacle, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of a precursor chemical, possession with intent to sell and deliver hydrocodone, felony maintaining a drug dwelling, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is under a $150,000.00 secured bond.

Amanda Lee Dick, 30, of 1309 Gordon Rd. Pinnacle, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of a precursor chemical, possession with intent to sell and deliver hydrocodone, felony maintaining a drug dwelling, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is under a $150,000.00 secured bond.

Amina Lashawn Rivera, 27, of 3714 Cherry St., Winston Salem, was charged with four counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, four counts of selling cocaine, four counts of delivering cocaine, four felony counts of maintaining a drug vehicle, three counts of selling and delivering a controlled substance within a 1,000 feet of a park, one count of conspiracy to sell and deliver cocaine, four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor child abuse. She is under a $30,000 secured bond.

Ronald Lee Nickelston, 51, of 1416 Sam Corns Rd., Lawsonville, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone, selling oxycodone, delivering oxycodone, felony maintaining a drug vehicle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is under a $5,000 secured bond.

Charles Justin Boothe, 27, of 212 Starview Dr., King, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver opana, selling opana, delivering opana, possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, selling heroin, and delivering heroin. He is under a $10,000 secured bond.

Anthony Shawn Poteat, 25, of 1085 Chuck Dr., Pilot Mountain, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor maintaining a drug dwelling. He is under a $1,500 secured bond.

Jennifer Carol Green, 41, of 1500 Bunker Hill Rd., Walnut Cove, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone, selling oxycodone, delivering oxycodone, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is under a $1,000.00 secured bond.

Clifton Charles Highfill, 57, of 113 Delray Dr Lot 5, King, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony maintaining a drug dwelling, and possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia. He is under a $6,500 unsecured bond.

Bottoms said Sheriff Mike Marshall and the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office are committed to combat drugs in Stokes County and keeping Stokes County safe.
