The Salvation Army, in coordination with Walnut Cove Fire and Rescue and the Stokes County Department of Social Service, is in need of volunteers in Stokes County for a variety of Christmas programs. Volunteers and Donors are needed to pack toys, fill stockings (Sam’s Pizza, Public Libraries, Dairi-O, & Town and Country Grille), adopt Angels from the Angel Tree, Ring Bells at the traditional red kettle, and help at distribution.
Drop-off of toys, food, and new clothing continues at four locations:
1. Walnut Cove Fire and Rescue – anytime
2. Stokes County DSS – Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
3. Hope Pregnancy Center; 12/5 and 12/12 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m and 12/8 from
4. Friend2Friend Boutique 320-E East King Street in King
This program is the largest provider of assistance in Stokes County and will likely serve over 500 local children this Christmas season.
