NC AgVentures is a new grant opportunity to support family farms

NC AgVentures is pleased to announce a new grant opportunity offered by the NC Cooperative Extension Service and funded through the NC Tobacco Trust Fund Commission.

NC AgVentures will award a minimum of 20 grants to NC farmers in the following counties: Martin, Wilson, Pitt, Edgecombe, Nash, Forsyth, Stokes, Surry, Rockingham, Yadkin, Guilford, Wayne, Lenoir, Sampson, Johnston, Duplin, and Greene.

These are competitive grants for producers with innovative project ideas to diversify, expand, or implement new entrepreneurial plans in their farm operations. The program will award an average of $5,000 to $10,000 but will allow applications up to $15,000 if they can show strong justification.

“We’re excited about NC AgVentures and the new opportunities farmers will have to fund their projects,” said Bill Teague, Chairman of the NC Tobacco Trust Fund Commission.
