On Dec. 10, 2015, the Rotary Club of King honored Dylan Scott Hall, a member of the 2016 class of West Stokes High School and resident of Pinnacle, North Carolina, by presenting him with the King Rotary Club Good Citizen of the Quarter award.
Hall was chosen by the West Stokes High School Scholarship Committee to receive this award because of his academic achievements, character, and interest in helping others. He completed all requirements for high school graduation in December of 2015 with plans to enroll in the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in January of this year.
Being a recipient of the award puts Hall in competition for a King Rotary Club Scholarship. Near the end of the academic year, Hall and the other three recipients of the Good Citizen award will complete a scholarship application and be interviewed by a panel of King Rotarians. One of the students will receive a $1,000 scholarship, renewable for three years; and the other three will receive a one-time award of $350.
The Rotary Club of King, a chapter of Rotary International, is committed to the principle of, “Service above Self” and demonstrates that commitment through its scholarship program and other community betterment projects. Projects are funded by member donations and community support of the club’s annual fundraiser held each September. The club meets each Thursday at 7:00 a.m. at P.B. Clark’s Family Restaurant in King. Guests are welcome to attend meetings without a formal invitation or prior notice.
