The Library Media Center at West Stokes High School held its first annual Tacky Holiday Sweater Contest, on Dec. 16.
Many students, faculty and staff participated in this event and each donated $2 to enter the contest. Monies raised funded new books for the media center. Students and staff voted for their top four favorite sweaters during lunch periods via Google forms and later voted by social media polls for the winner. Lauren Mosley was the student winner and Linda Lane was the staff winner.
The media center at West Stokes High School gained new fiction and nonfiction additions to their library, thanks to Donors Choose grants and supportive community donors. Students have been enjoying extracurricular activities, such as book club and a Makerspace that features STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education) activities in the media center as well.
