Applications being accepted for NC Pre-K Sites

Stokes Partnership for Children, the NC Pre-K Program Contract Administrator for Stokes County, will be accepting new site applications to provide NC Pre-K services beginning with the 2016-2017 school year. If your site is currently not providing NC Pre-K services but you would like to apply to become an NC Pre-K provider, you must contact Shannon Cox at 985-2676 x 147 to register for an information meeting to be held at 10 a.m. on March 7, at Stokes Partnership for Children.

Eligible NC Pre-K sites must hold a 4 or 5 star-rated license from the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE). Any program with less than a 4 or 5 star-rated license at the time of application must provide additional documentation, including a timeline for meeting all NC Pre-K Program Requirements and NC Child Care rules. NO EXCEPTIONS will be granted for sites that do not have a DCDEE 4 or 5 star-rated license by July 1, 2016.

A non-conflicted sub-committee of the Stokes County NC Pre-K Committee will review all applications and use standardized evaluation tools to make recommendations to the full committee for final approval. All sites submitting applications will be notified of recommendations by June 1, 2016. Being recommended as a site does not guarantee funding. Funding is contingent upon the NC General Assembly. All county funding is allocated by the Stokes County NC Pre-K Committee.

If you would like for your program to be considered, please contact Shannon Cox, NC Pre-K Coordinator, at Stokes Partnership for Children (985-2676) no later than March 1.
