Benefit planned for Barley

Local churches are coming together to plan a benefit event to help Dean Barley, the owner of the Vineyard Camp, who lost his home in a large fire last week.

Peters Creek Baptist Church, Brown Mountain Baptist Church and other local churches are planning to hold a Pinto bean and hot dog lunch in conjunction with a silent auction and live music on March 5 from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Brown Mountain Baptist Church.

The churches are supplying food for the event but are also seeking volunteers to help out. If you would like to help call one of the churches for more information.

“It is a joy to work in unity with so many brothers and sisters to be a blessing to a special individual and organization within our community,” said Melissa Carter who is helping to organize the event.
