Around the country and here in North Carolina similar events are being held to provide veterans a place to gather and for local health and human service organizations to show their support by offering a casual environment where veterans can meet and learn about services available to them. Don Timmons, Event Coordinator and Vietnam Veteran, explained Hospice & Palliative CareCenter’s involvement. “We are inviting local veterans to enjoy these Coffee events as our way of saying thanks for your service, to provide an opportunity for comradery and also offer access to local resources that our veterans may not be aware of.”

Through We Honor Veterans, a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and Veterans Administration (VA), Hospice & Palliative CareCenter is better serving our veterans and their families as they face end of life. The Veterans’ Coffee event is one more way Hospice can salute those who serve in our nation’s armed forces.
