King Lions Club sponsors clean up day

The King Lions Club will sponsor a Spring Clean Up Day in and around the City of King on Saturday April 2, 2016 from 10 AM until 12 Noon. Lions will be on hand at Central Park in King to distribute trash bags and gloves for all who would like to participate. The Lions Club will also collect filled trash bags that are left along Main Street and Dalton Road or in Central Park and Recreation Acres. The Lions Club invites everyone to participate and beautify King and Stokes County.

The King Lions Club is proudly committed to community service projects like Spring Clean 2016 in conjunction with the International Lions Foundation Centennial Service Challenge. For over 50 years the King Lions Club has sponsored activities that emphasize our motto: “We Serve.” The first stop light in King, Recreation Acres, and the King Fire Department are all projects led by the Lions Club.

The King Lions Club is also holding a firearm raffle for the Spring 2016. Tickets are being sold by Lions Club members for $20 each or 6 for $100. The firearms presented by Betty’s Country Grocery include: Mossberg 500 12 ga pump shotgun, Henry H001 Lever action 22 rifle, Ruger LC9s 9mm Pistol, Savage Axis Muddy Girl Rifle, and Glock 43 9mm Pistol.
