The Stokes County Recreation Department and the Stokes Family YMCA hosted a successful, if cold and damp, Easter egg hunt in Moratock park last Saturday, but if you missed that one don’t worry because public egg hunts are planned in King and Walnut Cove this weekend.

In Walnut Cove, the Christian Awareness Program (C.A.P.) is sponsoring their annual egg hint and cookout in East Walnut Cove Park on Good Friday.

Charles Welch said the egg hunt would start at around 10 a.m. followed by a variety of games for young and old alike.

He said CAP also provides a free cookout for attendees and noted that event usually draws between 250 and 500 participants.

The City of King will be sponsoring its annual egg hunt for children aged 12 and under in Central Park on Saturday, March 26 at 1:30 p.m.

The event usually draws a large crowd and the city provides a variety of entertainment during the rain or shine event.
