8 nabbed in March Madness drug bust

Members of the Stokes County Special Investigations Division have arrested eight suspects in a drug round up that began last week. The arrests were the culmination of months of undercover work and search warrant services.

According to police, detectives purchased illegal narcotics, including heroin, marijuana and prescription pills from individuals in various locations throughout the county.

The round up led to 44 felony charges and 14 misdemeanor charges.

Paul Hunt Jr., 45, of 4303 NC Hwy. 772, Walnut Cove, was charged with possession with two counts of intent to sell and deliver oxycodone, possession with intent to sell and deliver adderall, two counts of selling oxycodone, selling adderall, two counts of delivering oxycodone, delivering adderall, two felony counts of maintaining a drug dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is under a $3,000 secured bond.

Kenneth Paul Whitener, 51, of 2881 Moir Farm Rd., Lawsonville, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver xanax, selling xanax, delivering xanax, felony maintaining a drug dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is under a $15,000 secured bond.

Susan Denise McHone, 46, of 3956 Flat Shoals Rd., Germanton, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, selling heroin, delivering heroin, felony maintaining a drug vehicle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is under a $10,000 secured bond.

Will Anderson Brown, 27, of 3138 US Hwy. 311, Madison, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, selling heroin, delivering heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is under a $10,000 unsecured bond.

William Larry Bullins, 30, of 1146 Windy Ridge Rd., Sandy Ridge, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver amphetamine, selling amphetamine, delivering amphetamine, felony maintaining a drug vehicle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is under a $10,000 unsecured bond.

Angela Landreth Ziglar, 38, of 4924 NC Hwy. 772, Madison, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver oxycodone, selling oxycodone, delivering oxycodone, and felony maintaining a drug dwelling. She is under a $1,000 secured bond.

Daniel Paul Whitener, 28, of 2735 Moir Farm Rd., Lawsonville, was charged with felony possession of heroin, felony maintaining a drug vehicle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is under a $3,000 secured bond.

Juston James McCoy, 29, of 1023 Carroll Rd., Germanton, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture psilocin, manufacturing psilocin, felony maintaining a drug dwelling, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is under a $10,000 unsecured bond.

Detectives said more arrests are expected.

“We will always keep fighting to keep drugs off our streets,” Sheriff Mike Marshall said.
