Little free library for gardeners

While it has been in place for several months, the Little Free Library at the SEEDS (Stokes Educational Experimental Dirt Spot) garden at King Recreation Acres is starting to see more activity with the coming of spring and greater foot traffic in the area.

The Stokes Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association decided last year to offer the Little Free Library and to provide books and magazines pertaining to gardening so that folks could read on the spot, or take materials home to read and bring back next visit, or replace with something else on topic.

The premise behind Little Free Libraries is “take one, give one”, so that the library is always stocked and the contents change from time to time.

Master Gardener Edith Stewart and her family built and installed the library. The public is encouraged to take advantage of the information and entertainment it offers.

REMINDER: SEMGVA plant and garage sale is May 14 at Piedmont Radiator from 9 – 1. Mark your calendar.
