King resident involved in fatal wreck


A 25-year-old King resident was in involved in a Winston-Salem area accident that took the life of a 69-year-old man last week.

According to Winston-Salem police, Andrew Nelson Doomy, 25, of 7426 Hwy. 66 South, King, was driving north on Peters Creek Parkway in a 1994 Acura Integra at approximately 1:36 a.m. on June 19.

Police say Dommy failed to see, and collided with, a motorized wheelchair being operated by Terry Lee Spencer who was also traveling northbound on Peters Creek Parkway.

Officials said Spencer died at the scene from injures sustained in the collision and that the the next of kin had been notified.

No charges had been issued at press time, but police noted that the accident is part of an ongoing investigation being handled by the Traffic Enforcement Unit.
