Lawsonville Ruritan Club Scholarship/Teacher Appreciation Night


On May 12, the Lawsonville Ruritan Club honored the faculty and staff of Lawsonville Elementary School and presented scholarships to three North Stokes Seniors. A spaghetti dinner was given in their honor. Mr. Greg Ottoway, Principal of Lawsonville Elementary School, introduced the faculty and staff that were present. Ms. Sherry Hester was recognized as the teacher of the year. Ms. Hester is shown below with Charlotte Lawson and Steven Bingman presenting her with a gift from the Lawsonville Ruritan Club. The scholarships were presented to (L-R) Jackson Moorefield, son of Meritza and Jerry Moorefield, who will be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to major in biological science; Ainsley Bresnahan, daughter of Sarah Bresnahan, who will be attending Salem College to major in psychology; and Logan Stevens, son of Amy and Vincent Stevens, who will be attending the University of North Carolina in Charlotte to major in engineering.
