You don’t want to miss Vacation Bible School at Snow Hill United Methodist Church on July 19th -22nd. That crazy ant, Rivit is back with his friend and helper “Sandy Paper” for some nightly adventures about our relationship with God. We will begin with a hot dog cook out for vbs families to kick things off on Sunday July 19th at 5:30. On Monday through Wednesday hours are 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. There is no charge for vbs. Ongoing Events

On Wednesdays this summer you are invited to join Snow Hill United Methodist Church in a study of prayer. Using Timothy Keller’s book Prayer-Experiencing Awe and Intimacy with God Pastor Pat Spicer will lead the study on how to enrich your prayer life and using prayer to enrich your life. Bethel United Methodist Church in King located at the corner of Hwy. 66 and Slate Road will serve a FREE Community Meal every 4th Wednesday in the month beginning on Wednesday June 24, 2015 from 5:30 to 8.00 PM. ALL are welcome.

This spring SHUMC will be using the Mayberry Bible Study featuring clips from the Andy Griffith Show to explain important Biblical principles such as service, peace, commitment, mercy, pride, accountability, trouble, teaching, courage, gossip, folly, discernment, values, temptation, encouragement, and guidance. Each week’s session will stand on its own, so individuals are welcome to attend as their schedule allows.The study will be held on Wednesdays beginning on April 15 and run through early June. There will be two times each week that you may participate in the study. A daytime study group will meet at the Dan River Family Restaurant located just south of Danbury on Highway 8 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. From 6:15 – 7:30 p.m. The evening group will meet at the church, 2030 Snow Hill Church Road, Danbury (located between Lawsonville, and Sandy Ridge.) Everyone is invited to participate in this enriching and entertaining study under the facilitation of Rev. Dr. Pat Spicer. Cartridge collecting — Harvest Temple Church of God is now collecting empty inkjet cartridges for recycling. Cartridges can be deposited in the collection bin next to the daycare office. Simply place an old cartridge in a plastic sandwich bag and deposit it in the collection bin. The acceptable cartridges are listed next to the cartridge bin next to the daycare office.

MOPS — MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) at Poplar Springs Church of Christ meet the second and fourth Thursdays from September to May from 9:15-11:15 a.m. at Poplar Springs Church of Christ. MOPS strives to nurture, encourage and educate all mothers of preschoolers to be the best moms they can be. Children are cared for in age-appropriate classes while moms are at MOPS.
