The Everdeen House is, in fact, the “House on Fire.” At the 5th Annual House Cup Banquet for Mr. Mike Capizzani’s English Language Arts and social studies classes at Southeastern Stokes Middle School, the Everdeen House was crowned House Cup Champion just a year after finishing in last place.

Made up of twenty-four 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, the Everdeen House earned 2387 points by getting A’s in Mr. Capizzani’s class and by being overall excellent students and citizens.

Additionally, 8th grader Kloe Tucker of the Finch House earned the prestigious honor of MVP of the Year. Nearly 300 students, parents, and alumni of Mr. Capizzani’s class jammed the gym to celebrate all of the students who participated in the House Cup.

The banquet was catered by John Brown’s Grill in King and was made possible due to the generous donations of these local businesses: Stormie Speaks Insurance, Imperial Vault Company, Venable Bros. Well Construction, Mt. Tabor Barber Shop, Lisa’s Country Clippins, Mounce Home Improvement, and Bobby’s Garage. We thank them for their continued support.
