Stokes County Historical Society held a free open house to the public on Sunday. Throughout the summer months they host one each month with guides on hand to answer questions and / or history related topics dating back to the 1850s Wilson Fulton House or items in the museum. The museum is furnished with period furniture and local historical items. New displays and Native American artifacts have recently been added. A large Steatite vessel, dating to 8,000-2,000 B.C., and found in Stokes County, is on loan for the summer open house events. Our next open house will be held on August 28th from 2-5 p.m.
