The Stokes County Arts Council will feature Eileen M. Wilhem’s artwork at the Hanging Rock State Park Gallery (Hanging Rock Visitor’s Center) September 1 through September 30. Wilhem will be at the gallery on Sunday, September 18, 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. for a “Meet and Greet” social. The public is invited to visit the Hanging Rock State Park Gallery to see her work and meet the artist. Join us for coffee and light snacks.

Eileen Wilhem, artist and founder of Pinnacle Pastels, states “Nature inspires me the beauty of my surroundings, the grace of people and animals. I must pick up my pastels and paint. These are my everyday scenes which keep me grounded. As one can tell from my paintings, I have a thing about chickens. They are such fun. Pilot Mountain is in my back yard so I am drawn to it as the light or season changes. I am truly blessed to live on a horse farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains where inspiration is never lacking.”

“Ever since I could hold a crayon, I have been called to draw. In 2014 and 2015, I took pastel courses at John Campbell Folk School and have been hooked ever since. In 2016, I retired and began devoting myself full time to my rediscovered passion.”

“This year, I have exhibited at the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC in the Community Canvas and Second Spring Exhibits, all the 311 Gallery in Raleigh, NC in their Juried Show Eggistentialism 3.0. I am a featured local artist at the Tim Bruce Galleries in King, NC.”

I am a member of Art for Arts Sake, Associated Artists, Stokes County Arts Council and Surry County Arts Council and have been nominated to the Board of Associated Artists. I also served on the board of SECCA.”

For a chance to meet Wilhem, visit Hanging Rock’s Visitor Center Sunday, September 18th, 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
