Stokes Stoked goes on in spite of storm

United In Christ Community Youth Choir singing “Let It Echo”—the theme of the youth rally—as they waved banners. Everyone at the rally was invited to write on a pennant banner something they were believing God for.

The crowd came together during a special prayer session for healing of the sick at the annual Stokes Stoked event.

Stokes Stoked youth rally was delayed for about an hour, due to rain, but ended up starting shortly after 6 p.m. and continued without hindrance until 9:30 p.m. Due to the storms in the area, attendance was hampered, but still about 300 people turned out over the entire course of the evening for the free food, free themed t-shirts and the performances by local youth (sometimes accompanied by adults). Over 15 local churches participated in the onstage part of the program with singing, praise dancing, testimonies, and prayer efforts, with at least 20 other churches represented in the audience. There are leftover youth large t-shirts available. If anyone wants one, contact Leslie Brewer at theoldpathsatwalnutcove@yahoo.com
