West Stokes High School adds a new face to the men’s soccer team leadership.
Will Moore, a 2014 graduate of West Stokes will be joining the men’s soccer team in the spring as the new assistant coach.
Moore played on the team while he attended high school and said that he’s excited to help out the team he once played on.
“I hope to bring them a leader that’s closer to their age and a good role model for the kids,” Moore said of what he hopes to accomplish.
Moore said that he played on the same team that he will be serving as assistant coaching for all four years of high school as a defender.
During his junior and senior years, Moore served as the team captain; a role which he hopes will assist him in his new position as assistant coach.
While playing on the team, Moore wore the number 21 jersey.
Moore currently attends Wake Forrest University, majoring in chemistry, with a minor in biology.
Moore explained that he won’t be able to be at every game and every practice due to college commitments.
“I’ll be helping out this year as much as school allows me to,” Moore said of the amount of time that he will be able to devote to the team.
Earlier in the summer, Moore said that he attended several of the team’s workouts before being named assistant coach and offered assistance and guidance.
“Will is a sharp young man that currently attends Wake Forest University and will use his experience on the field to assist the soccer team this season,” said Chris Manley, athletic director at West Stokes High School.
