We are excited for the selections for Best of Show winners for Adult and Youth Groups going to the N.C. State Fair in October. They compete with other Best of Show winners from other counties for judging. Our winners this year in Adult was Debora Shaffer (basket), and Youth was Ruth Beasley (picture).
We are a members of North Carolina Agricultural Fair Association, our purpose is to educate the community with competitions in Crafts, Canning, Baking, Sewing, Horticulture, Bees and Honey, Community booths, Livestock and Poultry and much more.
We would encourage school groups to participate in our Fine Arts and Horticulture contests next year, which include Apples, “Taters” gourds and other categories.
We had 37 adult cakes and 22 youth cakes auctioned and all the proceeds go to the exhibitors.
BINGO was added this year and everyone enjoyed it.
The most frequent question we are asked is “When will we have a Ferris Wheel”? We sat down and renegotiated the terms of the rides provided by the Fair and next year we will have one!
