The Stokes County Cooperative Extension office will be having a Master Gardeners Class starting Friday, January 16, at the Francisco Community Building. The classes are from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and a good number of people have already shown an interest in participating. The cost is $65 if you use the online book. If you wish to purchase the hard cover book, the cost is an additional $40. The classes will last for 16 weeks. If interested, you may contact Randy Fulk, at the Stokes County Cooperative Extension Agency at 336-593-8179.

Wayne and Laura Flippin visited their daughter Amy and husband David Baker at their new residence in Wilmington, NC, this past week. Amy is the new Instructional Technologist at Cape Fear Community College. We wish Amy the best in her new endeavor.

Colleen Collins remains a patient at Pioneer Hospital of Stokes. Please continue to keep Colleen and her family in your prayers.

R.W. Goins is a patient in Forsyth Hospital. Please keep R.W. and his wife, Alice in your prayers.

Also, keep the people of Paris in your prayers. Our country knows all too well the effects of terrorists’ attacks. We need to be mindful of our surroundings but we need to choose NOT to live in fear.

And finally, have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Try to be a blessing to someone that may not have it as good as you do.
