Nancy Reynolds News - In honor of Juanita Gordy

Betty Humphries is at home after a stay in the Northern Surry Hospital in Mount Airy with pneumonia.

Ed Bullins fell and broke his leg about 6 weeks ago.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Janice Gordon who passed away Sunday morning. Her and her husband Basil ran the Midkiff and Carson Hardware in Pilot Mountain for years.

Sympathy is also extended to the Wade Millsap family who passed away last week.

Roger Boles had surgery at the Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem last Thursday. He had a kidney removed and there was complications with the surgery. Please pray for him and his wife Betty.

Larry Chilton had knee surgery last week.

RJ and Joyce Love’s daughter Teresa and her family of Chicago spent Thanksgiving with them..

Scott Needham was named Citizen of the Year by the Pilot Mountain Civic Club. Congratulations to an outstanding young businessman!

The Rock House Ruritans installed new officers at their meeting last Thursday night as follows: R J Bennett, President; Deborah McClerin, Vice President; Nancy Speaks, Secretary; and Don Bennett, Treasurer; Claude Williamson, year board member; Betty Collins, 2 year board member; and Joyce Love, one year board member. Nathaniel Southern received Ruritan of the Year award. Sue Williamson won the Golden Key award for getting new members in 2015. She also won the Piedmont District Ruritan of the Year at the District Convention. The members of the club also donated 95 toys for the Pilot Outreach.

The Rock House Ruritan Club continues to have a turkey shoot every Saturday night weather permitting with the doors opening at 5 pm. The shooting starts at 6 pm and food is available.

The children’s Christmas play will be Wednesday, December 16th at 6:30 PM at Brims Grove Baptist Church. Please make plans to come out for this play.
