Please keep the family of Gerald Hill in your prayers. Mr. Hill passed away last Wednesday after a brief period of declining health. If you went to North Stokes High School in the late seventies, eighties or nineties, you probably had Mr. Hill for a teacher. He was one of those teachers that had the ability to bring out the best in people. I hope Mr. Hill realized just how special he was to his students. I know I can look back and smile just thinking about my time in his class. He was a treasure and will be greatly missed.

The “Our Communities” Initiative Group will have its first meeting of the year, Monday, February 15. Mark your calendars for that day! More information will follow next week. We have a lot on the agenda for this year!

Are you tired of the snow yet? It was really hard to measure here in Francisco, five inches in the front yard and close to 10 inches on the deck! The wind made it difficult to get an accurate amount. Anyway, it was a lot. My grandpa always said the land needed a good snow. The crops would do better in the spring. I know it makes the air cleaner.

I found a new recipe for bathroom cleaner, Dawn dish detergent and vinegar. Mix equal parts and spray shower doors. It must be the blue Dawn, not sure why. I personally have not used it but have seen the results. It cleans really well. You MUST rinse the tub or shower stall really well so the floor won’t be slick. I’m anxious to try this.
