Northwest Stokes Community Supper and Forum is planned for Monday, February 15 at Luna’s Trail Farm located at 1155 Wilson’s Farm Road (off Dearmin Road, which is off 89 between Francisco and Westfield.) Please bring a side dish or a favorite dessert. Sodas and donations will be greatly appreciated. Moravian Chicken Pies and baked spaghetti are on the menu. These items will be purchased through a fund raiser for students at Nancy Reynolds Elementary School. The money will be used for the 4th and 5th graders’ trip to Washington, DC in March. The pies and spaghetti are being made by Mrs. Pumpkins Bakery which is famous for their Moravian Chicken Pies. The meeting/supper is scheduled from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm and we have a lot on the agenda to discuss. The main points are community priorities and ideas for the now vacant Francisco School building. We need your community support and ideas! Please come and let us know what’s on your priority list!

Francisco Community Building is sponsoring a Winter Wonderland Bingo Saturday, February 20 at the Francisco Community Building. All prizes have a winter theme. Hot dogs will be ready at 6:00 pm and the games start at 7:00 pm. The cost is $20 for 20 games and all proceeds go toward the upkeep of the building. Hope to see you there.

The Francisco Fire Department is now taking orders for Chicken Stew that will be available for pickup March 12 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the fire department. The cost is $5 a quart and they are only making the amount that has been ordered, so get your order in now. Just see any member of the fire department or call 336-351-2696 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm to place your order. Chicken stew will be really good on these cold, winter days.

A stray dog has found its way to Stephen and Texie Jessup’s house. Texie said it’s a bull dog but she thinks it may have some pit bull mixed in. He’s brown in color with some white on his face and neck and white on his feet. He has on a camouflage collar but no tag. If this sounds like your dog, please come by and get him.

You can still get in on the fun and shed those extra holiday pounds by attending the fitness classes at Piney Grove Middle School on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Fitness instructor and personal trainer, Sharon Mcgeeney, says there is always room for one more! The cost is $5 a session and they have a blast! For more information, call Sharon at 336-325-0497.

Don’t forget your sweetie on Valentine’s Day!
