Francisco Volunteer Fire Department will be busy preparing the chicken stew Saturday, March 12 at the fire department. If you placed an order with them, the stew will be ready for pickup between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm. The cost is $5 per quart. Thank you for your support!

Don’t forget about the “Food Folly” bingo event going on at the Francisco Community Building, Saturday, March 19. The prizes include food items and the necessary cookware to prepare them in. Hot dogs will be ready at 6:00 pm and the games start at 7:00 pm. The cost is $20 for 20 games and is sponsored by the Francisco Ladies Auxiliary. Hope to see you there!

The “Our Communities” initiative group will meet Monday, March 21 at the Francisco Community Building. I’ll have more details next week.

Our North Carolina Primary is Tuesday, March 15. I never really thought about how important the primary can be until this year. When you go vote, and I hope you will, please be mindful of our current situation in Francisco. Our school is closed. After many decades of Francisco Elementary School, some of our elected officials felt the need to close the school. Voting is a way to voice your opinion. The person you vote for may win; they may not, but at least take a stand.

Can you believe this beautiful March weather God has blessed us with? Go out and enjoy it!
