A good number turned out for the community meeting at the Francisco Community Building Sunday, May 22. Items that were discussed were rules and a name for our new walking trail, which is not quite completed. I am so looking forward to this! If anyone has any ideas for a name, just let us know. We also discussed a volunteer clean-up day for the old agricultural building. We actually decided on three separate days which are Thursday, June 2, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Friday, June 3 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Saturday, June 4 from 9:00 am – 12:00. All volunteers are welcome to help with this. We also discussed a covered dish community supper. I will have more information about this later.

A new session of fitness classes are set to begin Tuesday, May 31, at the Piney Grove Middle School. Sharon Mcgeeney, trainer and instructor, says, “Time flies when you’re having fun!” Classes start at 6:15 pm and last until 7:00 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is $35 for 12 classes and 20% goes back to the school. The classes at Nancy Reynolds will start on Wednesday, June 1. The times for these classes are from 5:45 pm-6:30 pm, on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Please keep Bill Mitchell and his family in your prayers. Bill recently had heart surgery. He and wife, Helen, live in the Collinstown community.

Now that the weather is a little warmer, pack a picnic, and head on out to our Francisco Community Park! Let the kids burn up some excess energy on our newly painted playground equipment while you enjoy a good book. Volunteers have worked so hard to bring new life to our playground. Your hard work shows and we thank you!
