Say good bye to May and hello to June. This year is flying! June is filled with events in our area. The Volunteer Clean-up Days for the agriculture building are as follows: Thursday, June 2, 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm, Friday, June 3, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, Saturday June 4, 9:00 am – 12:00 noon. Please notify Paula Duggan at 336-351-6002 or Texie Jessup at 336-351-4142 if you would like to help. We need as many able bodies as possible.

A Community Pot Luck Supper will be Tuesday, June 14, 6:00 pm, at the Francisco Community Building. Bring your favorite covered dish and enjoy an evening with your neighbors. No business meeting, no politics, just food, fun and fellowship with friends in our community. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Bingo will be Saturday, June 25, at the Francisco Community Building. Usually the third Saturday of the month, but because of Father’s Day, it has been moved to the next weekend. Proceeds from the games will go toward the upkeep of the building.

Congratulations to our area graduates, both high school and college. A big world is out there waiting for you. Keep things in perspective. If you think your school years flew by, just wait till you get 21. The main thing is put God first, enjoy life, love what you do for a living, remember to laugh, and take the time to help someone.

Please keep the Clarence Overby family in your prayers. Clarence, my uncle, died of a massive heart attack at church last Sunday. Any of you who worked at the Carolina Plant in Collinstown in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s probably remember him. He will be greatly missed.
