Ruth Robertson and Nancy Speaks visited Machi Gunther in Knoxville, Tennessee this past weekend.
A covered dish lunch was held after service at Brims Grove Baptist Church Sunday for the Pastor Gerald Jones. who ll celebrate his birthday Tuesday. He was also surprised with “This is your Life, Gerald Jones” at 1:30 PM. Former students, teachers, friends and family were present. He also received a telephone call from a missionary Ricardo in Honduras. The members of the church presented Gerald with a new laptop and case. His wife Sandy was presented a gift card at a spa. It was an enjoyable and touching presentation
A surprise birthday party was held Sunday evening at 5 pm at the Coronet Restaurant in Rural Hall for Ed Lupo who turned 65 years old. Approximately 30 people were in attendance.
Jacque Sams has returned home after spending a few days at the Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She is doing better but still has to stay off her leg.
Claude Williamson has returned home after spending a few days at the Duke Hospital in Durham. He also is improving.
Eli Johnson turned 2 years old Friday, June 26th. He celebrated with a party with his family and friends on Saturday at his home. The theme was dinosaurs. He is the son of JJ and Heather Johnson.
Vacation Bible School kickoff celebration and registration will be Saturday, July 11th from 11 am to 2 pm at the Brims Grove Baptist Church. It will start Monday, July 13th through Wednesday, July 15th from 6:15 to 8:30 pm. A meal will be served each evening.

The Double Creek Volunteer Fire Department is hosting their 4th annual car and truck show on Saturday, June 27th. Sign in is at 9 to 11:30 am with a entry fee of $15.
