There will be a fund raising benefit for Jennifer Overby Saturday, July 23, at the Collinstown Community Building. Barbeque or hot dog plate served with slaw, baked beans, chips, drink and dessert will be available. We will also have live music and a drawing for $100, $50 and $25 gift cards. The benefit starts at 5:00 pm. Everyone is invited to attend. Come out in enjoy good food, fun and fellowship and help Jennifer with medical expenses for her cancer treatment.

The Dunkley Family Reunion will be held Sunday, July 24, at the Collinstown Community Building located at 2184 Collinstown Road. Lunch will start at 1:00 pm. Bring a picnic basket and an appetite!

Special birthday wishes are for Anita Mitchell of the Collinstown community. Anita celebrated her birthday last week. Miss Edna Earl Womble of the Francisco community also celebrated a birthday a couple of weeks ago. Miss Edna Earl turned 106 years young (not a misprint, I promise)!

Please keep the Carl Smith Family in your prayers. Mr. Smith, of the Francisco community, passed away June 30 surrounded by his family. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Iris, 10 children, 22 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters.

Please keep the family of Robert Keith Love in your prayers. Mr. Love, of the Pilot Mountain area and pastor of Woodville Baptist Church, died June 30. He is survived by his wife, Volenda, 2 daughters, 2 sons, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters. His sister, Alice Goins, lives in the Collinstown community.

Also Annie Bowman, 94, resident of Central Continuing Care in Mount Airy, passed away Monday, July 11. Annie, former resident of Collinstown community, is survived by 4 children, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great- great-grandchildren. Her son, Dwight, lives in Collinstown. Please keep Annie’s family in your prayers.
