Mark your calendars for Sunday, July 12. This will be the Francisco community’s last chance to speak their mind before the School Board’s final decision in regards to the fate of our school. Beginning at 2:00 pm, at the Francisco Community Building, we will have music from King’s Mountain View Church and prayer for our school, our community and our country. At 3:00 pm, the Public Hearing will begin. All residents of Francisco are invited to attend and voice their opinion either for or against the closing of our elementary school. After the meeting, we will have an ice cream social. I encourage all residents of our Francisco community to show positive support for our school.
Francisco Volunteer Fire Department now has volunteers on stand-by at the fire station from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm 7 days a week now. By already being at the station, the response time to emergency call has been cut significantly. We are so proud of our volunteer fire department and first responders. They are a first class team and we are blessed to have them!
The Dunkley Reunion is set for July 26, at the Collinstown Community Building, 2184 Collinstown Road. Lunch will be at 1:00 pm. Everyone bring a picnic basket. I personally know some of these cooks. There will be some good “eatin” there!
Happy Birthday to my Mom, Mildred Overby. She turned 81 this week.
