Francisco news

After a positive Public Hearing on Sunday with a community prayer and wonderful music from Kings Mountain View Church and David George, our fight for the Francisco Elementary School to remain open at least one more year has ended. Our pleas fell on deaf ears as the Board of Education on Monday, voted 3-2 to close our School. Despite the community’s volunteering for tutoring and school maintenance, which would save the county thousands of dollars, Board members, Becky Boles, Pat Messick and Chairperson, Sonya Cox, decided they knew what was best for our children. I would like to personally thank Bill Hart and Jamie Yontz for believing in our cause. But… on the positive side, we have a lot of VERY intelligent, VERY dedicated people in our community who believe that we should have a school. It’s not over yet.
