The Francisco Volunteer Fire Department will have their chicken stew ready for pickup Saturday, March 11, starting at 2 p.m. Anyone that has placed an order for the stew needs to come by the fire department between the hours of 2 – 4 p.m. At least I won’t have to cook supper Saturday night now!

The Ruritan Club will be sponsoring Bingo at the Francisco Community Building Saturday, March 18. The hot dog supper starts at 6 p.m. and the games start at 7 p.m. The theme is “Feeding Francisco” and all prizes are food preparation related. The cost is $20 for 20 games and all proceeds go to the Francisco Ladies Auxiliary.

Our Francisco Community Day, which is usually held in May, will be Saturday, April 29. This year, the Community Day will be combined with another event sponsored by Our Communities Group. Welcome to the Francisco Community Market Day. Celebrating the “handmade and homegrown” this double event promises to be something for everyone. We plan on having multiple activities for children of all ages. We’re bringing in two bounce houses, wonderful kids’ games, and always a favorite, is the Wake Forest Baptist AirCare Helicopter. A country breakfast will kick off the day at the Francisco Community Building starting at 7:30 a.m. and all other activities will be on the elementary school grounds just across the road. Everyone is welcome to attend this fun filled day in Francisco!

Continued prayers for R.W. and Alice Goins, JoAnn Padgett, Archie Spangler, Pete and Helen George, Jennifer Overby and Lois Overby. We’ve really had abundant sickness in our communities as of late. Also keep Susan Hathcock and her family in your prayers due to the loss of her father this past weekend. God bless all these precious families.
