Several area teams still had Northwest 1A/2A Conference wrestling matches remaining as of Tuesday with the conference tournament scheduled for Saturday at South Stokes High School.

Due to the inclement weather, schools have been out from Friday until Tuesday, with more snow in the forecast for later this week.

If the tournament goes on as scheduled, it would begin at 10 a.m. at South Stokes. Admission will be $10.

The conference tournament decides All Conference selections for the 2009-10 season.

North Surry has been the team to beat in the conference, holding a 6-0 league mark with one match left, against West Stokes.

If the Wildcats beat the Greyhounds it could create a three-way tie between North Surry, Surry Central and West Stokes for first place.
