“I thought they played awesome. They finally went to the finish,” said North Stokes coach Christine Condon.
The Lady Vikings traveled to West Stokes and defeated the Wildcats in three quick sets, 25- 17, 25-16, 25-14.
“Last year our girls were undefeated in the county. They beat South and West twice. This was our only in-county match this season so it was very important to come in and do it in three,” Condon said.
Megan Condon led North with nine aces, five kills, and 30 assists. Chandley Garner added two aces, 13 kills, eight digs, and three blocks. Senior Lauren Charleville pitched in an ace, 11 kills, and two blocks. Tana Frye finished with 17 digs.
“I thought Chandley and Lauren played great at the net tonight,” Condon said.
North freshmen Meredith Rasey and Lauren Wood moved up to varsity on Monday.
“Meredith played with us against Atkins and she blocked really well at the net. She’s learning a lot from Chandley, Lauren and Megan.” Condon said.
Wood also contributed in a starting role.
“She comes in listens and takes direction. She steps right up to the task and I think she’s going to be a really strong middle for us in the future,” Condon said.
West Stokes went on to defeat Carver 3-0 Tuesday night improving their record 10-12, 2-7.
The Lady Wildcats will recognize their three seniors this Thursday at 6 p.m.
