West falls to Cardinals

West Stokes tennis team fell again to East Surry last week in a 9-0 defeat.

This was the second 9-0 sweep over the Lady Wildcats, and in total, the Cardinals have won all 23 of their matches to start this tennis season.

East Surry senior Tiffany King made quick work of Lauren Palmer in the one-seed matchup with a 6-0, 6-1 victory.

Makayla Keener, East Surry’s second seed, took a a 6-2, 6-2 win.

Keener’s match was actually the closest singles’ competition of the afternoon. Allie Hawks won out of the three-seed spot 6-0, 6-2 against Anna Brown.
