The Stokes County Arts Council, The Town of Danbury, The Stokes County Historical Society and Artist’s Way Creations will host Christmas in Historic Danbury on Sunday, November 29, from 3-6:30 p.m.
The artwork of Patti Hricinak Sheets, photography work by Pat Cook and artwork by four high school students attending the “Holocaust Studies” conference in Europe will be featured in the “Apple Gallery” of the Stokes County Arts Council, 500 N. Main Street, Danbury. A free reception will be held from 3-6:30 p.m. in the Apple Gallery.
Music will be provided by Joanna Pinkerton, harpist. Santa will be visiting the Arts Council for photographs with children and adults. Once Upon A Blue Ridge will entertain audiences with their production of “A Christmas Carol Revisited.” Additionally, the Stokes County Writers Group will give a reading of their works following the theatrical performance.
The restored 1859 Wilson Fulton “Brick House,” located at 403 Main Street in Danbury, serves as the Historical Society’s Museum of Stokes County history. The museum will be open to the public from 3-5 p.m. for tours.
And last, but not least, there will be a tree lighting ceremony and caroling at 6 p.m. on the lawn of the Historic Danbury Courthouse. The public is invited to attend. For more information concerning this event, please contact the SCAC at 593-8159.
